Shillong, April 14 -- The annual three-day Ka Shad Suk Mynsiem (Dance of joyful hearts) was celebrated at the Weiking Ground in Shillong on Monday, marking the post-harvest agricultural cycle during spring time.
Priests and elders of the indigenous Khasi faith, Ka Niam Khasi, lead the people in offering prayers to the 'Creator' seeking bumper harvest and blessings for the well-being of humanity.
The dance is held with the beginning of the sowing seasons, to pay obeisance to the Creator, praying for prosperity and general well-being, health, peace and bumper harvest.
