Patna, May 1 -- Women associated with the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (JEEViKA), popularly known as "Jeevika Didis," are increasingly playing a crucial role beyond livelihood generation, emerging as a strong force for women's empowerment and social justice in rural areas of the state.

These grassroots women workers are now actively helping victims of domestic violence and other crimes, providing timely intervention and support to women and girls in distress.

Official sources said here on Friday that in recent times, several instances have come to light where Jeevika Didis stepped in to rescue and assist victims, ensuring their safety and rehabilitation.
