Chikkamagaluru, May 22 -- A social media-driven political parody trend has been kicked off in Karnataka's coffee belt with the launch of a counter movement called the "Lakshmana Rekha and Hit Party", positioned as a response to the viral "Cockroach Janata Party of India" theme circulating online.

The development originated in the Malnad region, where local resident Jagadishchandra from Balehonnur in Narasimharajapura of the Sringeri constituency is said to have initiated the concept and written the foundational note for the movement.
