Lucknow, April 30 -- The Congress has questioned both the Uttar Pradesh government's preparedness and intentions regarding the special session being called to discuss the Women's Reservation Act.
Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra Mona on Thursday categorically stated that a mere five-hour discussion on such an important topic would not be sufficient.
She demanded that the special session's duration be extended so that all parties can present their views in detail on a sensitive and wide-reaching issue like women's reservation.
She stated that this is not merely a legislative process, but a matter related to the rights and participation of half the country's population-the women's power.
