New Delhi, March 23 -- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday informed the Lok Sabha that Rs 10,037.5 crore has been spent under the first phase of the SWAMIH Fund, a key government initiative aimed at reviving stalled housing projects.
Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, she said, "Final closure for this phase was achieved in December 2022. To date, 63,200 units have been completed out of a total portfolio of 1.14 lakh homes targeted for completion."The SWAMIH Fund (Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing) is a government-backed initiative launched in November 2019 to provide last-mile funding support to stalled, RERA-registered residential projects that are net-worth positive.
