New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong posted on social media, "Give the bully an inch, he will take a mile", a day after US President Donald Trump slapped an additional 25 percent tariffs on Indian products, taking the total to a high of 50 percent.
The Chinese Ambassador posted the statement, "Give the bully an inch, he will take a mile", alongside a quote from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who said:
"Using tariffs as a weapon to suppress other countries violates the UN Charter, undermines WTO rules, and is both unpopular and unsustainable."
The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this during a phone call with Celso Amorim, chief advisor to the President of Brazil, on August 6.
