Bengaluru, April 15 -- Even if the Congress manages to win the Davanagere South by-election, it has already suffered a "moral defeat," civil society platform 'Eddelu Karnataka' said on Wednesday, intensifying its attack on the party over alleged deviation from secular values.
In a strongly worded joint statement, the organisation accused the Congress of abandoning its professed commitment to secularism and resorting to family-and caste-based considerations in ticket distribution. It further alleged that the party was now targeting minority leaders through "vindictive actions," deepening discontent among sections that have traditionally backed it.
