New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- Women's empowerment stands at the centre of India's developmental priorities, Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said on Wednesday.
Addressing the 57th Annual Day function of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College for Women, Gupta paid tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee, describing him as a visionary educationist and one of the youngest Vice Chancellors of the University of Calcutta.
He said the institution should continue to reflect his ideals by promoting not only academic excellence but also a strong sense of national consciousness.
He urged students to combine professional competence with integrity and courage.
