Patna, June 7 -- " Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital " has become the first hospital in Bihar which is completely based on solar energy, with the installation of a solar power plant in its premises, funded by General Insurance Corporation(GIC).
" Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital ", located in Mastichak in Saran district of Bihar, will save Rs 1.5 crore every year, earlier spent on the electricity bill and the fund thus saved after the installation of the solar power plant, will be utilised for free treatment of 5000 poor patients annually.
