Patna, June 28 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today announced that ''Panchayat Vikas Diwas'' (Panchayat Development Day) would be observed in all gram panchayats across the state on the last Sunday of every month to promote participatory governance and accelerate holistic rural development.
Launching the programme at Tetiya Gram Panchayat in Tetiya Bambar block of Munger district, the Chief Minister said the initiative would provide 12 opportunities every year for elected representatives, government officials and villagers to deliberate on local development issues and prepare action plans for their resolution.
