New Delhi, Jan. 16 -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has described India as a ''key growth engine for the world'' and said the third-quarter growth (in India) has come out stronger than expected.

Julie Kozack, Director, Communications Department, of the IMF, said at a press conference that IMF had estimated India's growth for Fiscal Year 2025-2026at 6.6 per cent based on strong consumption growth. However, the third quarter growth in India came out much stronger.
