Dhaka, June 1 -- Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon on Monday said the government will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against any unethical obstruction to the activities of mainstream media.

"No one will be subjected to any form of harassment through false cases without specific crime or allegation," he said, claiming that the media is operating independently and without control under the current government.

The minister made the remarks, while exchanging Eid-ul-Azha greetings with journalists at the Secretariat.
