Dhaka, Oct. 10 -- The Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate in Narayanganj has seized 72,944 kg of yarn worth an estimated Tk 2.95 crore from four unregistered warehouses in Araihazar upazila for lacking tax invoices.

A preventive team of the commissionerate conducted a search at the four warehouses of Anik Traders, owned by Haji Mobarak Mollah, at Purinda Bazar in Araihazar on Saturday morning.

During the operation, the team found metallic, polyester and nylon yarn of Chinese and Indian origin without the required tax invoices, according to a press release issued by the commissionerate.

The commissionerate has already initiated legal proceedings to realise the applicable revenue.
