Beijing, May 15 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held a private meeting on Friday at Zhongnanhai, the central leadership compound in Beijing, ahead of the conclusion of Trump's state visit to China.

The meeting took place a day after the two leaders held formal talks. Xi welcomed Trump upon arrival, and the two leaders held informal discussions while walking through the compound's gardens.
