World Patient Safety Day: Safe care for life!
Dhaka, Sept. 17 -- Globally, one in every ten patients is harmed during health care, and around half of that harm is preventable. World Patient Safety Day brings together governments, partners and communities to focus attention on patient safety and reduce the avoidable harm in health care. Limited available evidence indicates that unsafe, poor-quality care has particularly severe consequences in low- and middle-income countries, contributing to an estimated 5 million deaths and US$6 trillion in economic welfare losses.
