Dhaka, Oct. 5 -- A worker died after being electrocuted while working at a plastic factory in the capital's Chawkbazar area on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Kaiyum, 17, son of Md Khokon Mia of Dattagram under Ishwarganj upazila in Mymensingh.

The accident occurred around the evening when Kaiyum was working at the factory.

His colleague Abdul Kaiyum said the worker was accidentally electrocuted and fell unconscious while working. He was immediately rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Abdul Kaiyum said the deceased lived at the plastic factory in Chawkbazar.
