, Aug. 26 -- A woman passenger died after falling ill aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Jeddah to Chattogram on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Sanowara Begum, 55.

Md Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer of Shah Amanat International Airport, said flight BG-136 made an emergency landing at Muscat Airport after the passenger fell seriously ill.

She later died.

After the aircraft landed in Muscat, efforts were made to remove the body from the plane. However, permission from the Royal Oman Police was required under Omani law, leading to a delay in completing the necessary formalities.
