, March 13 -- The capital experienced its first pre-monsoon thunderstorm with hail on Friday evening. Around 7 pm, lightning flashed across the sky, followed by heavy rain mixed with hail, causing temporary inconvenience for residents.
Shoppers heading out for Eid sought shelter under shop verandas and canopies, while localized traffic jams delayed commuters. Despite the disruption, the rain brought relief after a scorching day, lowering temperatures and creating comfort and joy among the people.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) had earlier forecasted the activation of the first pre-monsoon weather system, locally called 'Godhuli,' from Friday night, beginning in the northeastern regions.
