Chandpur, Aug. 8 -- Two young men were killed in a tragic road accident involving a motorbike and a pickup van on Thursday evening.

The fatal collision occurred in front of Dewan Bari near the busy Chandra intersection at Chandpur when a motorbike and a pickup van collided head-on.

The deceased were identified as Md Ami Dhali (18), son of Nazrul Islam Dhali, and Kishore Chandra Das (17), son of Kartik Chandra Das - both are the residents of Balia Union under Chandpur Sadar upazila.

Locals and eyewitnesses said that a speeding pickup van and the motorcycle collided head-on, causing both riders to fall violently onto the road.
