Two teens drown in Padma in Chapainawabganj
Chapainawabganj, June 30 -- The bodies of two teenage boys were recovered from the Padma River in Chapainawabganj on Tuesday evening, hours after they went missing while bathing with friends.
The deceased were identified as Rifat, 16, son of Jem Ali of Rauf Hajipara in Sundarpur, and Rasel, 17, son of Alam Hossain of Char Tero Roshia area in Islampur. Both were Class X students.
The bodies were recovered near Alimnagar Ghat in Sadar upazila, said Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Model Police Station Ekramul Hossain.
According to local sources, the incident occurred around 12:30pm when a group of friends went to bathe in the river at Alimnagar Ghat. Rifat and Rasel drowned during the bathing.
