Dhaka, Oct. 5 -- Traffic police have detained two people allegedly fleeing after snatching a mobile phone from a pedestrian near Rampura Bridge in the capital.

The detainees are Md Imran, 20, and Md Raihan, 23.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Akhtar Hossain said the incident took place around 8:30pm on Sunday.

Hearing a commotion, traffic police personnel rushed to the spot and saw the two men fleeing after allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a pedestrian.

The officers chased and caught them at the bridge, the official said.

They will be produced before the Special Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, he added.
