, Aug. 18 -- Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday arrested two people along with five gold bars, weighing 831 grams, worth Tk 1.22 crore from Hamidpur Bus Stand in Jashore district.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Halim, 27, son of Abdul Goni Sardar of Rajbari district and Shahidul Islam, 29, son of Nannu Matbar of Shariatpur district.
BGB detains man smuggling US dollars to India via Mujibnagar border
Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive in the bus stand area around 9 am and arrested two people and seized five gold bars, two mobile phones, Tk 15,730 in cash from their possession, said Commanding officer of BGB-49, Lieutenant Colonel Saifullah Siddique.
A case was filed in this connection.
