Jashore, June 13 -- A tree plantation programme has been inaugurated in Jashore as part of a nationwide initiative to plant 250 million saplings aimed at addressing environmental conservation and the adverse impacts of climate change.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who launched the national campaign by planting a garjan sapling at the protected forest area of Malumghat in Cox's Bazar on Saturday afternoon.
