Moulvibazar, Aug. 8 -- A trader was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants inside his shop on Shamshernagar Road in Moulvibazar town on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Shah Faizur Rahman Rubel, 45, a resident of the town's Shyamoli in Kulaura upazila. He was the father of two and had long been running a hardware, fabric and grocery business named 'F Rahman Trading' in the Shamshernagar Road area.

According to police and locals, the unidentified attackers entered his shop and stabbed him repeatedly before fleeing the scene.

Hearing his screams, local traders and CNG auto-rickshaw drivers rushed to the spot and took him to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
