, Oct. 9 -- The tenure of a committee formed to examine and recommend on the professional demands of engineers holding BSc and diploma degrees has been extended, according to a government notification.

The Cabinet Division issued the notification extending the committee's tenure until November 30.

The eight-member committee, formed on August 27, is chaired by Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources; Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges; and Ministry of Railways.

Along with four government advisers, the committee includes representatives from engineers' organizations.

It was initially asked to submit a report to the government within one month, a period that has already expired.
