Sylhet, July 10 -- year-old girl was tragically hacked to death allegedly by her father at her maternal grandfather's house in Beanibazar upazila of Sylhet on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Rayka Akter Riya, daughter of Abu Bakkar, from Raygarh village of Golapganj upazila.

According to locals, the incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Friday when Riya was heading to a nearby pond to take a bath. Her father reportedly attacked her with a sharp weapon (machete), leaving her dead on the spot.
