Dhaka, July 22 -- The government on Wednesday said a technical fault at one of the country's Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) has disrupted gas supply to the national grid, reducing daily gas supply by around 450 million cubic feet (mmcfd) and affecting industries, power plants and compressed natural gas (CNG) stations.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division in a statement said gas regasification from the affected FSRU has been suspended due to the technical problem.

As a result, gas pressure has dropped in several parts of the country, causing disruptions to industrial production, electricity generation and CNG refuelling operations, it added.
