Bogura, June 24 -- Police have arrested Samir Hossain Mishu, former treasurer of Bogura chapter of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and a leader of the pro-Awami League physicians' platform Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (Swachip), from a hotel in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district, in an attempted murder case linked to July mass uprising.

Tipped off, a team of police arrested Dr Mishu, who also serves as an instructor at Bagerhat Government Medical Assistant Training School (MATS), from Hotel Muktel in Dhunat Mor area of Sherpur upazila in around 11:30 pm on Tuesday, said SM Moin Uddin. Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Police Station.
