SSC examinee commits suicide after failing English in Chapainawabganj
Chapainawabganj, Aug. 10 -- A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee committed suicide after failing English in the SSC results published Monday in Shibganj upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Halima Khatun Torika, 16, daughter of Tarikul Islam of Puratan Unishbighi village under Shahbajpur union. She was a student of Chakpara Adarsha School in the upazila.
According to family and police, Halima became upset after learning that she had failed only English while passing all other subjects in the SSC examination.
At one stage, she secretly consumed poison in an attempt to take her own life.
