Narail, Nov. 6 -- year-old man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug-addicted son following an altercation over money at Boyra village under Lohagara upazila in Narail district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Afsar Sheikh, son of late Hosen Sheikh of the village.

The accused son, Khairul Sheikh, 30, fled the scene immediately after the incident.

According to family members, Khairul had long been addicted to drugs, causing frequent familial disputes, which led his father to drive him out of the house recently. Khairul returned home three days ago after running out of money.
