Rajshahi, Oct. 17 -- e-Islami's student wing Chhatra Shibir-backed candidates have secured key leadership positions in the long-awaited Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) election, winning the posts of Vice President (VP) and Assistant General Secretary (AGS).

Shibir-supported candidates Mostakur Rahman Jahid and SM Salman Sabbir have been elected VP and AGS respectively.

Meanwhile, former student movement leader Salahuddin Ammar clinched victory in the General Secretary (GS) race.

BNP's student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal failed to secure any major post in the election.
