Dhaka, May 30 -- Today is the sixth death anniversary of freedom fighter Md Imamul Kabir Shanto, founding chairman of Shanto-Mariam Foundation and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology.

Shanto passed away on May 30, 2020 after contracting COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

A successful entrepreneur, educationist and noted social worker, he dedicated his life to promoting vocational education and employment opportunities in post-war Bangladesh, according to a press release.
