Bogura, June 6 -- Fire Service personnel recovered the body of a student from the Bangali River in Sonatala upazila of Bogura on Saturday morning.

The victim, Tirtha Saha, 17, was the son of Dipak Saha of the Notun Bandar area in Sonatala upazila.

Quoting locals, police said Tirtha went to the Bangali River at Ariar Ghat in Madhupur union on Friday afternoon with his family members for bathing.

At one stage, he was swept away by the strong current and went missing.

On information, members of the Sonatala Fire Service immediately launched a rescue operation. A diving team from Rajshahi also joined the search efforts.
