, Nov. 4 -- At least 15 people, including police personnel, were injured in a series of clashes between garment workers and police in Ullail and Hemayetpur areas of Savar on Wednesday.

The workers blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway for nearly an hour, demanding an increase in the minimum monthly wage to Tk 30,000.

Police said workers from different garment factories gathered on the highway in the morning and staged a blockade. They also threw brickbats at Al-Muslim Garments.
