Dhaka, Sept. 6 -- Some stars arrive, shine brightly and disappear with time. A rare few, however, remain suspended in the memory of generations, their presence refusing to fade even decades after they are gone.

In Bangladesh's cinematic history, few such stars have left an imprint as enduring as Salman Shah, and today marks his 30th death anniversary.

Born Chowdhury Mohammad Shahriar Emon on September 19 during the turbulent period of Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971, the popular actor died on September 6, 1996, at the age of 25.
