Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- The death of BNP Commerce Affairs Secretary and former three-time MP Salahuddin Ahmed has created a void in politics, BNP acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said.

Describing Salahuddin as a strong organiser and politician, Rizvi said he had made significant contributions to the development of his constituency.

Salahuddin died while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital Dhaka on Tuesday night.

After his body was taken from the hospital to his residence in Shyampur, Rizvi visited the house at night to pay his last respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family members.
