, July 19 -- Two people, who went missing after a trawler sank in the Buriganga River following a collision with a launch at Shyambazar Ghat in the capital's Sadarghat area on Sunday morning, were later found alive.

The Cumilla-bound trawler was hit by Sundarban-12 launch around 9:30am, according to Warehouse Inspector Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell.

Two people onboard the trawler were initially reported missing, prompting a rescue operation by a unit from the Sadarghat River Fire Station, which reached the scene around 9:50am, he said.
