Kushtia, Sept. 22 -- A retired army personnel was killed in a road accident in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as 60-year-old Khandaker Ehsan Habib, son of late Khandaker Hasmat Ali of Hakimpur village in the upazila.

Citing locals, police said Ehsan Habib was travelling by motorcycle from Daulatpur towards the Upazila Parishad on Tuesday afternoon.

At around 2:30pm, when he reached in front of the Ansar-VDP Bank, his motorcycle collided with a battery-run three-wheeler locally known as a 'Pakhi van'.

He fell onto the road and was critically injured after being hit by a trolley coming from behind.
