Dhaka, Aug. 20 -- Bangladesh received more than US$2 billion in remittances in the first 19 days of August, maintaining strong growth in foreign currency inflows, according to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank.

From August 1 to 19 of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), Bangladeshi expatriates sent home $2.03 billion, marking a 29.1 percent increase from $1.57 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

On August 19 alone, remittance inflows stood at $64 million.

Cumulative remittance receipts from July 1 to August 19 of FY27 reached $4.89 billion, up 20.7 percent from $4.05 billion recorded during the corresponding period of FY26.
