Remittance surges to $1.14 billion in first nine days of August
Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- Bangladeshi expatriates sent home US$1.14 billion in remittances during the first nine days of August 2026, marking a 69.2 percent increase from $675 million received during the corresponding period last year.
According to data released by Bangladesh Bank, remittance inflow stood at $205 million on August 9 alone.
Remittance inflows jump 15.4 percent to $2.85bn in July
The cumulative remittance inflow since the beginning of the current fiscal year on July 1 reached $4.0 billion as of August 9, up 26.9 percent from $3.15 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
