Sylhet, Sept. 6 -- The hanging bodies of a pregnant woman and her four-year-old daughter were recovered from their home in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet on Saturday evening.

The deceased were identified as Champa Rani Das, 35, wife of jewellery trader Ratan Das of Shahgali Bazar, and her daughter Hridi Das, 4.

Local residents said Champa Rani was pregnant.

The bodies were recovered from their home in Daspara area of Burhanpur village under Barhal Union Parishad.

Locals said they saw the mother and daughter hanging from a ceiling fan inside the house and informed police.
