Dhaka, Nov. 4 -- A Dhaka court on Wednesday issued a warrant for the arrest of actress Pori Moni in an attempted murder case filed by former Dhaka Boat Club Limited (DBCL) President Nasir Uddin Mahmood.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Mahfuzur Rahman passed the order as she failed to appear before the court for scheduled hearing.

During the hearing, the complainant's lawyer sought cancellation of the bail granted to the accused, while the lawyer representing Pori Moni sought an adjournment, saying she could not turn up due to an allergy-related illness.

The court subsequently accepted the complainant's plea, cancelled her bail and ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant.
