Dhaka, Sept. 13 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir on Sunday said there is no alternative to enhancing the skills and capacity of police personnel to combat cybercrime.

He made the remarks while inaugurating a 10-day Training of Trainers (ToT) course on investigation of cybercrime cases at the Police Staff College Bangladesh in Mirpur in the city on Sunday.

"Artificial intelligence, deepfakes, encrypted communication systems and cloud computing have opened new avenues of opportunities, but at the same time created new challenges for law enforcement agencies," the IGP said.
