PM urges WEF to take coordinated steps to support climate-vulnerable nations
Dalian (China), June 23 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday called on the World Economic Forum (WEF) to undertake coordinated steps to support delta nations such as Bangladesh and other countries vulnerable to rising sea levels and climate-related risks.
He made the call during a courtesy meeting with WEF President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alois Zwinggi in Dalian, China.
The meeting took place at 5:00pm local time on the sidelines of the WEF's annual gathering in Dalian.
At the beginning of the meeting, Alois Zwinggi congratulated Tarique Rahman on assuming office as the head of government of Bangladesh.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the WEF's various initiatives aimed at addressing climate change.
