, June 18 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday called on the Special Security Force (SSF) to maintain a balance between ensuring the security of the head of government and preserving his close connection with the people, saying public trust and affection remain his greatest source of strength.

Speaking at a programme marking the 40th founding anniversary of the SSF at Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, he said security arrangements should not create barriers between elected leaders and the citizens they serve.
