Beijing, June 26 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday morning began talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, in one of the most important engagements of his four-day official visit to China.

The meeting began around 10:40am local time (8:30am Bangladesh time), Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.

Prime Minister's Office Spokesperson Mahdi Amin said the two leaders are expected to discuss a wide range of issues related to Bangladesh-China relations, including trade, investment, infrastructure, connectivity and other areas of mutual interest.
