Dhaka, Aug. 10 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday expressed deep sorrow at the deaths of 16 Bangladeshi nationals in a factory fire in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh.

In a condolence message posted on his Facebook page, the Prime Minister said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families."

He said the government will stand by the affected families and ensure all necessary assistance during this difficult time.

Tarique Rahman said he has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Bangladesh mission in Riyadh to take coordinated measures to bring the bodies of the victims back to Bangladesh as soon as possible.
