Dhaka, Aug. 13 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday extended financial assistance to Rajshahi University student Md Nazmul Hasan to help him pursue higher studies in Sweden.

Nazmul met the Prime Minister who provided him with a grant to support his overseas study plans, said a release issued by the PM's Press Wing.

Nazmul, a master's thesis student of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Rajshahi University, has secured a full scholarship from the University of Skovde in Sweden for higher studies.

However, the costs of travelling to Sweden and initial accommodation and other expenses posed a financial challenge for his family, according to a statement.
