Chattogram, Aug. 31 -- Over 30 students of Chittagong University (CU) were injured in a clash with local people near the university's Gate No. 2 area early Sunday following an alleged incident of harassment of a female student.
Students said an argument ensued between a student of Philosophy Department and a guard of her rented house over opening the gate when she reached there slightly before midnight.
At one point, the guard allegedly called several others who then physically assaulted the student.
When other students gathered to protest the incident and tried to detain the guard a clash broke out between them and local people, leaving 32 students injured.
