Dhaka, Nov. 6 -- e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Friday said no individual or political party could claim exclusive credit for the Liberation War, calling for due recognition of the contributions of all those who played roles in the country's independence.

"Instead of competing over credit for the history of independence, everyone should be recognised for their respective contributions," he said while addressing a discussion organised by Jamaat's Dhaka north unit at the Moghbazar area in the capital, marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
